pine cones and cookies

I made a pine cone garland yesterday.

It is stretched across the cupboards in my kitchen.

I feel festive with it.

I usually don't have a lot of seasonal decor,
so I wanted to do something fall-y/wintery
and something that could stay up for a while.

voila!

and zen I made zome cookies.

I don't know why I am talking like a vampire.
(because vampires apparently talk in z's)
mmm...pumpkin chocolate AND white chip cookies.

My bf Kristy gave me the recipe,
and now I am giving it to you

1 box spice cake
1 can (regular size, not the big one) of pumpkin

Mix and add chips

bake 350 degrees for 12 min.

make sure to grease the pan!

The End.

And these are so moist and light that you will eat all of them
as soon as they come out of the oven.

oh that's just me who does that?

oh well.

bye.

white chicken pizza

I always use the Pioneer Woman's pizza crust recipe when I make pizza.
Here's the link for that:
http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2010/02/my-favorite-pizza/

p.s. I wanted a thin thin crispy crust so I used a fourth of this dough recipe and rolled it out reeaaaally thin.  and baked it before I put the topping on.

And today I topped it with a white basil sauce, grilled chicken and bacon.

The Sauce:
1 small carton of heavy whipping cream
1/4 package cream cheese
1/4 c. parmesan cheese
5 fresh chopped basil leaves,
or just sprinkle in some basil flake seasoning
then add a little pepper and garlic powder. Just sprinkle it in. and taste it...
I'm so bad at specifics in recipes.

Heat this all together in a small pan on the stove, stirring every so often so it doesn't burn to the bottom. I turn it off when it starts boiling and let it sit till it thickens up.

Then pour it over your dough and add mozzarella cheese, chopped chicken and bacon.

Bake at 500 degrees for 5-8 min....until it's all melted and bubbly brown goodness

white cheese chicken and spinach lasagna

I made this for dinner the other night.

It was pretty good.

But there were only a couple of us eating, so that meant we had leftovers, and if I was thinking I should have portioned them out and froze them for later meals.

Instead we got to eat this for a couple days and get sick of it.

Next time I make it I am going to add some zucchini squash and maybe broccoli.

my go to frosting recipe

Bavarian cream frosting recipe:
heavy whipping cream whipped, prob 2 cups whipped
cream chesse, 1 pckg
brown sugar, 1 c
1 tsp vanilla
whip it all together and use on cake or cupcakes. I've also used this for whoopi pie filling

this is my go to no fail, light, delicious cream frosting recipe. it looks thick and heavy, but it's so light and delicious. trust me.

Mmmm

I made dinner today.
go me!
:)
I went to Rainbow and just started grabbing goodness and threw it in my cart.

I ended up getting my favorite bread (ciabatta) , prosciutto, brie and cheddar, bacon, baby arugula, sweet onions and avocados (only for mine) and then I made us some sandwiches.

peanut butter

yum,
YUM,
YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

I made some mini peanut butter bars/reeses the other day for a get together and they were so good. I'm a peanutbutterLOVER, and would think "dip spoon into peanut butter jar and scoop and eat" is a winning recipe, so maybe you don't need to take my word for this one. . . but take my word for it. This ones a winner folks.

choco chips-melted
peanut butter, powdered sugar, saltine crackers smashed
(I don't measure sry)
put some melted choc. on bottom of the cupcake wrapper, then spoon in peanut butter mixture and add choc. on top.
voila!

refrigerate until ready to eat.

brie puffs

yum!
I didn't have time to make dinner rolls the other night,
but I wanted to add something to the table-it just needed another side dish,
SO I had some brie cheese and puff pastry dough and made a quick 5 min. side.
It was delicious and simple.

All I did was cut mini square slices from the brie, then roll it up in the pastry dough and pinch the sides. I baked these at 400 degrees in a cupcake tin for maybe 5 min, or until they were "puffed" and brown. The cheese melts and is so creamy and rich and they were so soo good! Also if you make them ahead of time you just pop them into the microwave for a min. and they are as good as fresh from the oven. Seriously, the pastry gets all soft again and the cheese....oh man, it's making me hungry thinking about it.

love,
Steph
