happy halloween

My friend Jaewon snapped them of us in Rochester, MN when we were visiting.

I have been with out Jon this week,

he has been out interviewing on the East coast.

Tonight,

I am planning on not dressing up in costume

and not passing out candy to trick or treaters.

Ha.

I'm a grinch of halloween this year.

When I lived in Logan Utah I met this girl, Leah.

hunt and gather and 50th

Edina has a lot of fun shops.

Before we made our way to the popular 50th and France for shopping

we stopped in at this crazy store,

Hunt and Gather.

It's a thrift shop,

and I think everything was donated by Hunters bc there were dead animals everywhere

and we were the gatherers going through digging through old drawers and papers...

or maybe we were the hunters and gatherers, hunting for some good finds and gathering it all up...

or maybe thas' just the name of the store.

then we stopped on 50th and didn't take too many pics.
but it was fun!

brunch

I had a brunch date with these girls at The Lynn, on Bryant

It was delicious and I loved the atmosphere of the place.

What we ordered:

Omelet du jour : this was a pesto and gruyere cheese omelet with ciabatta toast and a potatoe cake that was as hard as a rock, but tasted fabulous.

Chick Pea Fries: yum-o

and I can't remember the name of the german pancake, but it had blueberries and powdered sugar and was divine.

I feel so fancy as I'm typing this, saying words like divine and lovely.

oh I didn't say lovely yet? Well it was lovely dear.

I could definitely go here again!

This month has been one for german pancakes.

Jon and I made them on conference weekend

(and I cannot find the website that I got the recipe from)

and then I had them last weekend with some friends and

I might make them again this weekend!

Ya, the one I made above was just for Jon and I.

We ate it all.

but not in one sitting.

so that's okay, right?

neighbors gift ideas

I have said it before and I'll say it again, I love fall.

Lately I have really been wanting to put together a fun fall gift for my neighbors.

I'm thinking homemade oatmeal bread with a jar of whipped butter and fall wrapping around it all with a cute card.

Doesn't that sound like fall?

homemade bread, or homemade anything food reminds me of fall for some reason.

But I have yet to make this idea more than an idea and visit my neighbors, so I thought while I'm thinking about it I'll look around and find other gift ideas. I found these that I thought were pretty cute...
